I joined the Dofasco Pipe Band in Hamilton after a brief try at yet another retirement. Big Jim called me up and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. This band won the Grade 2 North American Championship in 1997 and 1998. The playing was very tight and we played some pretty spirited music. As you'll see we had a very small drum corps. From my perspective, we didn't have the best sound in the park. We had lots of music from our small drum corps, great ensemble from the girls and Big Jim, and good unison within the pipe section. All in all, it was a very good band. The performance below is in the beer tent at Maxville following our 1997 win. The sound file directly beneath the video box (below) is the band playing Good Drying, Roddy MacDonald's outstanding composition. We used to play it off the field after a win. So much fun to play.
