These pictures are interesting. “Cruikshank” is not a very Scottish name however there is no denying St. John NB was a hotbed of piping in 19th century North America. The bagpipe is cocuswood and appears to have been made with significant skill. The profile of the chanter bulb is pre-1900. The other bagpipe in the picture is extremely interesting. I only wish I had better pictures.
