There’s a lot going on with this bagpipe. Profiles are very early. Combing shows ten teeth standing. Some of the fittings are bone where others appear to be painted wood. The rings have a top-bead. The chanter has a bone bulb. Cracks have been repaired by installing rings that would have been heated to expand, and then cooled into place, thereby shrinking and holding the crack tightly together. Repairs and replacement pieces throughout. All-in-all and wonderful specimen to study.
