This is absolutely a flyer. I have had no experience with this maker. In fact, we don’t even know his first name. These pictures were sent to me and said to be a MacKinnon bagpipe. I am familiar with Robert MacKinnon however these bear absolutely no resemblance to his bagpipes, as I know them. I traced things back to a well-known and respected maker who identified the set as having been made by MacKinnon as he had seen a set before somewhere. Present day makers are a great source of information as many old and unusual sets are brought into them for repair or other reasons. I’m posting this here with the hope that others will come on board and take us in one direction or another.
