This bagpipe came to me from Scarborough Maine. The original owner, Joe Doherty, left Ireland in the early 1900’s with this bagpipe. The mounts are very thick, not at all like you’d expect to see on an Edinburgh bagpipe, but they do have the cut-bead. The one-piece cap is interesting in that it’s made of marine ivory. This takes me to Dundee and Thow, however there is nothing else that suggests a known maker. The PC and Chanter are both Duncan MacRae.
